The way I see it, two things need to happen to save our democracy from Donald Trump:

[1] Trump must be investigated, and he must be impeached.

* Trump has to be held accountable, and not just as a formality.
* We need formal investigations into ALL members of the Executive Branch who are committing high crimes and misdemeanors every day as we speak.

[2] We have to stop MAGA authoritarianism for good.

* Congress must utilize the full power of the Constitution to draft and pass legislation to guard against any future autocratic and authoritarian threats.

Now, I won’t lie to you – it’ll take unprecedented courage, cooperation, and integrity to get this done.

But we have to do it, because our survival as a republic depends on it.

Look, I’m not running for Congress to make a long-term career in politics. I’m 62 years old, I’ve done the Washington thing, and it’s not for me.

I intend to be in office exactly as long as Trump is – just long enough to stop him from destroying this country and put safeguards in place to make sure he and MAGA never get close to the White House ever again.
