Friend,
A lot of people run for public office, and for many different reasons. Some are in it to use their position in Congress (or the current White House) to enrich themselves.
Not me, though: I decided to run for office in IL-13 quite simply to make a difference.
When I decided to run, I was working in Washington leading the Office of Budget and Management. While I was making a difference there, I could make even more of a difference for our communities at home.
It wasn't easy. I flipped this seat in 2022 against the odds – defeating a self-funded Republican opponent to become the first woman to ever represent IL-13. Since then, I've been a champion for working families in Washington.
Now, I'm running for re-election for the second time. We won our primary in March and are working hard to make sure Democrats flip the House in November.
This political climate is more chaotic and corrupt than I've seen before. I need your support to stay in Congress bringing back results for IL-13 – will you chip in $3 to fuel our fight?
