PLANNED PARENTHOOD ACTION FUND
It can be hard to wrap your head around the numbers sometimes. Planned Parenthood health centers serve more than 2 million patients per year, many living in rural and underserved communities.

So when the Trump administration and its backers in Congress start talking about "defunding" health centers permanently, they're going after people who have few options for affordable care. And it's no coincidence that the people most likely to be harmed are women, people with low incomes, Black and Latino communities, LGBTQ+ people, those who live in rural areas, and immigrants.

Already, more than 50 Planned Parenthood health centers have been forced to close because of the Trump administration's cruelty. And about 150 more Planned Parenthood health centers are in danger of shutting down if a permanent "defunding" bill passes. Entire communities could lose their only source of quality, affordable reproductive care.

When the stakes are so high, it helps me to look beyond the statistics, to the individual people at the center of our mission. I want to share a few of their voices with you today, as a reminder of what we're fighting for.
When I was a young, uninsured woman I went to a Planned Parenthood [health center] for low-cost birth control, breast exams and well-woman exams.

I don't know how else I would have received necessary women's health care treatment without Planned Parenthood.

It is very important to me to be smart about my health. It's my body and my responsibility to be in control of my health. Planned Parenthood made that possible for me.

I am very thankful for the services I received, and want the same health care access for all women."

Planned Parenthood has been there for me since I was a teenager... I had nowhere else to go, but then in my adulthood I realized there is nowhere else I'd want to go.

The safe space they provide, and [the] compassion of all their employees make it a welcoming place for all."

I am fortunate to hear stories like this all the time. They help me remember that every time a patient gets the care they need, from a provider they trust, it is a victory.

And as long as lawmakers attack reproductive freedom — whether for one person or a million — we'll keep fighting back.

Thank you for sticking with us.
