Dear Friend,
Storytelling is much more than sharing experiences; it is a foundational way immigrant communities preserve their histories, cultures, and identities across generations. Through stories, whether written, spoken, or visual, individuals express their journeys, hopes, and struggles in ways that resonate deeply within and beyond their communities.
Join us on June 30th at 1 PM ET for “We Rise Through Our Stories: How Immigrant Children, Families, and Communities Resist through Storytelling,” a webinar featuring author Reyna Grande, children’s book illustrator Jacqueline Alcantara, and poet Pavana Reddy.
Moderated by author and Young Center Board Member Frances de Pontes Peebles, in honor of National Immigrant Heritage Month, we’ll be reflecting on the transformative power of storytelling and art within immigrant communities.
