Hi Friend,

Common Dreams was founded in 1997 as a radically new model: a completely independent, people-powered news outlet funded exclusively by readers tired of news driven by and beholden to corporate interests.
No paywall. No ads. No subscription fee. Just you.
The model is simple, but profound — and it's never been easy. But if you want to see the difference we've made, just spend a few minutes on our website. Compare other news outlets with how we cover issues like wealth inequality, the Pentagon budget, healthcare, money in politics, the genocide in Gaza, Wall Street greed, or the climate crisis.

A lot has changed over the last three decades — for the planet, the economy, democracy, technology … and certainly for media and the news industry.

What hasn't changed is Common Dreams reporting news every day, powered entirely by people like you, not the corporations or the super-wealthy. We still believe a better world is possible, and as long as we have you behind us, we'll keep fighting to help us all achieve it.

Here's what we do know: independent media is key to building a better and brighter future. And that's where you come in.

To keep Common Dreams alive and strong going forward, our goal is to add 450 new monthly donors over the next two weeks to bolster our work and ensure we not only survive but thrive.

If you believe in this model, our journalism, and the common good, please support our Mid-Year Campaign by becoming a monthly donor at whatever level — $5, $12, $18, or other — that works for you. ([link removed])

This is the model: togetherness. We do this together, or, honestly, we don't do it all.
