Greetings Friends, Family, and Supporters,
As we celebrate Juneteenth and reflect on the power of freedom, resilience, and possibility, we are asking you to help us close the final gap in making a life changing journey possible for 15 Black girls traveling to Ghana this summer through Girls For A Change's Her Journey Home ([link removed]) initiative.
Because of your generosity, we have come so far. Together, we have raised more than 90% of our goal. We are now seeking to raise our final $50,000 to ensure every girl can fully participate in this once in a lifetime experience.
Her Journey Home is more than a trip. It is an opportunity for young women to connect with their ancestry, explore the rich history and culture of Ghana, and deepen their understanding of themselves and their place in the world. They will walk through history, engage with local leaders, learn from educators and entrepreneurs, and document their experiences through storytelling and film.
As we prepare for departure, several essential expenses remain, including transportation to and from New York, travel logistics, meals, cultural experiences, and final program costs. While flying from JFK was the most affordable option when tickets were purchased, transportation costs have increased significantly due to rising fuel prices and travel expenses.
We are asking you to make one final gift or invite a friend to join our giving challenge. Whether your contribution is $25, $100, $500, or a one time leadership gift, every dollar moves us closer to the finish line.
This Juneteenth, help us transform history into opportunity. Help us ensure that every girl who has worked, fundraised, prepared, and dreamed of this moment can take the journey home.
We have come too far to stop now.
Thank you for believing in our girls, our mission, and the power of investing in the next generation of leaders.

Join us for Market Day on Friday June 19th from 12-4pm!
We are beyond excited for our annual Camp Diva Market Day, and this year it falls on Juneteenth! This is a celebration of collective fundraising, entrepreneurship, and the strides we've made to create beautiful communities. Come out and shop directly from our young entrepreneurs as they proudly showcase the business and products they've been working so hard to build! Your support is essential to the experience, offering engagement and interaction and a chance for participants to practice their presentation skills.
LOCATION CHANGE:
Due to rain, Market Day will be held at Lucille Brown Middle School
6300 Jahnke Rd, Richmond, VA 23225
Be sure to stop by the Girls For A Change table to grab a “I Sent a Girl to Ghana” Shirt. All sales support Her Journey Home: Ghana and our mission to send 15 girls to Ghana for cultural immersion and development this summer.
