John, it's Bob Harvie, the Democrat running for Congress in PA-01.

I wanted to take a moment to reintroduce myself.

I'm a true kid of Bucks County. My grandparents raised their children here, my parents raised me here, and I raised my children here. And like so many of you, I have a big Irish-Catholic working-class family who taught me the value of the American Dream.

My Mom and Dad both worked hard to make sure that our family had everything we needed.

I was the first in my family to go to college. I picked a career in education because I wanted to make a difference right here in our community, not just make money. I chose to do my student teaching in DC public schools during college, and then I came home to serve kids in my backyard by teaching Social Studies in Bucks County for 20 years.

John, I got into politics for the same reasons I became a teacher. My family believed in doing all you could to make your community a better place. When I was elected in Falls Township in 2003, we flipped control of the township from red to blue.

In 2019, I ran for Bucks County Commissioner with Diane Marseglia, focusing on the issues that matter most to my community. And we flipped Bucks County from red to blue for the first time in forty years.

I've been pretty busy over the last six years. Early on, I helped lead our economic recovery taskforce to provide guidance during the pandemic shutdowns. The “Bucks back to Work” program got funding of $27 million for Bucks County small businesses. During some of the most contentious elections in our history, I served as chair of the Bucks County Board of Elections overseeing free and fair elections.

This isn't politics to me, this is service. Running for Congress was never on my to-do list, but we've gotten to a point where I can't just sit back and accept what's happening.

We've had 10 years of a Congressman in Brian Fitzpatrick who's done too little too late for us. The American Dream is crumbling here because he's been too busy playing party politics to act on what's happening at home. Regardless of party, this is just plain wrong.

I've seen what PA-01 is capable of when we come together, which is why this campaign runs on grassroots contributions from our neighbors. If you can, I'd ask that you chip in to help us reach our end-of-quarter fundraising goal and finally send some new leadership to Congress. [[link removed]]
