Hey team —
For years, Oklahoma voters have said they want a higher minimum wage. Yesterday, some politicians made sure their voices didn’t count. State Question 832 — which would have raised Oklahoma's minimum wage to $15 by 2029 — failed at the ballot box. Not because Oklahomans don't want it (organizers gathered over 180,000 signatures to get it on the ballot!). Because the system was rigged against them from the start.
First big business interests sued to keep the question off the ballot entirely, tying it up in court for months. Then Governor Stitt delayed the vote for two years, setting it up to fail. And just last year, the state legislature passed new restrictions on the ballot initiative process itself — making it even harder for the next popular idea to ever reach voters at all.
This is what happens when Democrats write states off and leave the field. They give the GOP control of every lever of power, so they can engineer the outcome they want – even when voters are on our side. Heroic local organizers worked their hearts out and did all they could to bring resources into the fight, facing big conservative money at every turn.
Groundwork is committed to staying in the fight with them. Chip in today >> [[link removed]]

Oklahoma organizers aren't leaving this fight, and neither are we. We don't pack up once an election passes. We stay and help build on what was started — knowing that's the only way real power grows. We hope you'll stay with us!
Best,
