Well, cat’s out of the bag: It’s my birthday.

Thank you to those of you who have already reached out with warm wishes.

Last week in DC, Republicans passed another bill to send billions more to ICE and CBP, even though they already have unused funds from last year’s massive package.

ICE doesn’t need more blank checks. It needs accountability, training, and basic standards of conduct. No one enforcing the law should be above it.

At a time when families are still dealing with higher prices for gas, groceries, housing, and health care, we should be focused on lowering costs, not rewarding agencies that operate without basic accountability.

That’s what I’m fighting for: a government that spends taxpayer dollars responsibly and treats people with dignity.

With all this in mind, I’m going to ask if you’ll make a donation today in honor of my birthday so I can continue to fight for the values you and the rest of San Diego sent me to DC to defend.
