I never set out to write bills. I actually never set out to form nonprofits out of a Facebook group! But here we are in less than an hour and I will be testifying on 3 bills: two that I wrote and one that Dan Janowski, our volunteer data developer who wrote the first bill. Earlier this year when we created VoteByMailNJ.org with my recommendations for legislation to be written that we desperately needed for vote by mail and no organization wrote it, I followed the lead of Dan and wrote two more bills.
And all three bills on Vote By Mail are all up in both the Assembly and Senate today in the respective committees.
Tune in and please support. Sadly, I did not get a grant for this work. Other organizations did yet they have no bills up, so once again, I ask for your donations to keep going.

Of all the organizations in New Jersey to do this work, no one else stepped up so we, GRASSROOTS volunteers did it for voters. And if these bills pass, it will be the most expansive voting legislation in the country.
1) A4276/S2598 - "Ballot Cure Act":Â Allows voters to be able to fix their ballots due to mistakes like forgetting to sign their signature and mistakenly tearing off their Certificate of Mail-in Voter flap!
2) A4320/S2633 "VBM Education Bill": Requires the Secretary of State to provide education on VBM to the public and poll workers and guidelines on rejection. Prevents rejection from ballot design at no fault of the voter.
3) A4475/S2580: "Ballot Drop Box Act":Â Requires a minimum of 10 ballot drop boxes per county and in towns and college campuses where there are 5000 or more people.
