Friends,
We have been following the Community-Wide Energy and Climate Action Plan (CECAP) process closely since it began last year.
After months of planning, in January Fairfax County convened a CECAP Task Force—comprising Fairfax residents, local businesses, associations, and environmental groups—to develop a Climate Action Plan for the county as a whole. I’m representing 350 Fairfax on the Task Force, and along with our allies, I’m pushing for ambitious targets for reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions across all sectors county-wide.
But the Task Force needs your input!
A CECAP public survey will open on Thursday, August 27, and remain open until Sunday, September 13.
This survey and the accompanying information sessions—on August 27, September 1, and September 2—are your opportunity to ensure your voice is heard in this very important process of planning a just and sustainable future for our community.
Our ask is simple: Sign up for a virtual information session and then complete the survey. And then ask 5 friends to attend an information session and complete the survey.
We need everyone to participate in this process to ensure that it is equitable. We need everyone to participate to ensure that the plan the Task Force ultimately approves reflects the diverse needs and resources of residents across Fairfax County.
Sign up for the virtual information sessions here:
Thursday, August 27, 7 to 9 p.m.
Tuesday, September 1, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Wednesday, September 2, 7 to 9 p.m.
We will send out the survey link once it’s open, or you can check back here on August 27.
You have a voice in this process, and your voice is essential. Please take a moment now to sign up for an information session and set a reminder to fill out the survey between August 27 and September 13.
