Despite growing public outrage over AI data centers, the Pennsylvania Senate's top Republican has announced that he does not plan to move any legislation regulating them this year. [1]

That's right.

Even as communities across Pennsylvania pack public meetings, reject proposed data center projects, and demand basic protections, Senate leaders are choosing to do… nothing to keep data centers in check.

No action to protect Pennsylvanians from rising electricity bills.

No action to protect our water.

No action to protect communities from poorly planned development.

No action at all.

And Big Tech is counting on it.

Across Pennsylvania, residents are showing up in huge numbers because they're worried about what unchecked data center development could mean for their communities. They're worried about noise, traffic, and whether local residents will have any meaningful say in what gets built near their homes.

The State House listened. Lawmakers have already passed commonsense policies with bipartisan support that would help protect communities, stop data centers from operating in secret, and support local officials operating on a shoe-string budget.

But those bills are now stalled in the Senate while leadership refuses to move them.

We are ready to scale up our campaign – to run ads in target state Senate districts, hold more constituent lobby meetings, and recruit local officials to raise their voices. But we need your help to close our fundraising gap.
