PA Rising Tide Fund — Goal: 200 Grassroots Donors in 48 hours

John – Luke here. I know you’ve heard from me a lot this year, and I’m so glad to know you’re a part of this team. But we’re doing something different today. Give me a few minutes of your time to explain why we’re launching this 48-Hour PA Rising Tide Fund, because I need you to actually feel what's at stake here, not just read about it.
I've been running campaigns for a while. You develop a certain relationship with the work — you believe in it, you grind through it, you celebrate the wins and absorb the losses, and you keep going, because at the end of the day, you’re serving the people who entrusted you with the office. That's the job.
- Mary Gay walked into Kristi Noem's hearing this year with twenty years of public interest law behind her and absolute zero patience for evasion. I watched her press a sitting Cabinet secretary on deaths in federal custody — not as a political move, not as a soundbite — as someone who has spent her entire career believing that the people with power owe an honest accounting to the people without it.
- Noem got ousted not long after. I'm not saying there's a direct line. I'm saying accountability has consequences when someone is actually doing it.
- She pressed Bondi on DOJ overreach.
- She pressed Republicans on a proposal to hand ICE another $70 billion in borrowed money, asking why Congress was being asked to write a blank check without meaningful guardrails, oversight, or accountability.
She is, without exaggeration, one of the most effective oversight voices in the entire House Democratic caucus. And she does it without the chest-thumping.
She does it because it's the job.
Here's what I know from being inside this operation: the Washington work and the Pennsylvania work aren't separate things. They're the same thing. The accountability she delivers in a committee room means something to the families in PA-05 who need someone to fight for them.
The community hub for PA Dem campaigns we just opened is where that fight gets organized on the ground. The Democracy Summer Fellows in this building right now are going to be talking to voters across Southeastern PA about exactly the issues Mary Gay has been fighting on in Washington.
We’re asking for this help not because of a number on a spreadsheet, but because of what it means for the operation Mary Gay is building, the people across PA who are counting on it, and the majority in Congress that Pennsylvania is going to decide.
I hope you’ll jump in and be one of the 200 people who step up to support it over the next two days.
Thank you!
Luke
