** Announcements from Room for All Worship, 6/14 at McKendree UMC

Room for All is excited to announce that in an era of division and separation in the church, we’re moving in the direction of Unity. Today we are announcing that we are in the process of a merger with our sibling organization from the Christian Reformed Church in North America. All One Body has been working in the CRC with a mission similar to that of Room for All for the past 14 years. With the changes that have occurred in that denomination, and with the migration of so many affirming pastors and congregations from the CRC to the RCA, it made sense to the boards of both organizations to come together under one name and one mission to strengthen and broaden our ministry.

The combined organizations will exist as Room for All, with a single board of directors. At present, two RfA board members are founding members of All One Body, and we plan to add members with roots in the CRC in our next board member election cycle.

Work continues to build a new website that will consolidate the resources of both organizations and make outreach more effective. At the same time, we have broadened our social media presence through a new YouTube channel, located @roomforallrca ([link removed]) which is the same handle as our Facebook ([link removed]) and Instagram ([link removed]) accounts.

I also am humbly pleased to share with you the news that, as this new chapter begins, the Board of Room for All has recently voted to name me, Mitchel Leet, to your service as Executive Director. I am proud to be the first transgender member of RfA’s staff, and now the first transgender Director of this faithful organization! I deeply believe in the brightness of God’s imagined future, one where every word we speak and action we take helps lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual people and our allies know the truth of their belovedness and belonging in the church.

I ask that you keep Room for All and I in your prayers, as our ministry continues into this new season. I pray that this moment is a catalyst for new conversations, connections and chances to share the light that Christ’s love so brightly shines with people of faith from the RCA, the CRCNA and other traditions!
