Friend, climate change is not a years-away specter.

Its impact is being felt now -- and in recent days we've seen painful reminders of that on American soil.

In Iowa, a powerful derecho has devastated thousands of homes and businesses, leaving communities struggling.

In California, raging wildfires have forced over 100,000 people to leave their homes, and burned through nearly one million acres.

I'm writing to you today to offer some ways to help those impacted by these natural disasters.
