John,
Did you get a chance to read yesterday’s email?
I wanted to update you on what I’ve been up to in Congress lately.
We’re building essential momentum to end U.S. support for the genocidal war on Lebanon, with over 90 members of Congress voting for my War Powers Resolution last week.
Additionally, Democratic leadership in the House of Representatives pledged to “support and build consensus” for the new Lebanon War Powers Resolution I just introduced last week.
I’m also fighting for our right to housing, with the House passing my affordable housing bill—the Housing Our Communities Act.
I recently introduced new legislation to end our country’s unhoused crisis, and I’m fighting back against Trump’s attacks on public housing and housing assistance.
This week Congress disgracefully passed a bill to send $70 billion to ICE, some of which will go directly to private prisons running inhumane detention camps. I promise to continue taking on this lawless agency, including leading legislation to end warehouse detention. I’m also cosponsoring legislation to end ICE agents’ immunity from legal consequences and prohibit ICE from using biometric surveillance such as facial recognition.
I’ll never back down in the face of racist and fascist abuses of power. I’ll keep taking on Trump and his corruption, while building a government that helps everyday Americans instead of billionaires.
Could you chip in to power the fight for our rights such as housing and healthcare—rather than war crimes and ICE detention?

Thank you so much for your support.
Unlike most of my colleagues, I don’t take money from corporate PACs and I’m not a millionaire, so every single donation means a lot for our re-election campaign.
I know what it’s like to be part of the working class, and I know how urgently our communities need transformative change. That’s why I’m focused on ending poverty and ensuring healthcare, housing, clean air and water, utilities, and childcare for all.
I know that together, we have the power to win a just world.
With you in the fight for better,
Rashida

John,
Last week, more than 90 members of Congress voted yes on my War Powers Resolution to end U.S. support for war crimes in Lebanon.
Just like it took multiple votes before the House of Representatives passed the Iran War Powers Resolution, this will take multiple votes as well. Democratic House leaders pledged to “support and build consensus” for the new Lebanon War Powers Resolution I just introduced last week.
We will continue to call for an end to war and genocide, and instead redirect our resources to invest in the well-being of our communities—such as housing for all.
Earlier this year, the House passed my Housing Our Communities Act, which directs the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide federal grants to local, regional, and state governments for affordable housing.
I’ll keep fighting for housing as a human right. I recently introduced the Unhoused Persons Bill of Rights and I’m joining grassroots organizations in fighting back against Trump’s attacks on housing assistance and on fair housing laws.
I also led my colleagues in opposing Trump’s attempt to allow discriminatory lending practices, and I’ve cosponsored multiple pieces of legislation to stop his corruption. Every day I’m fighting for you and against Trump’s abuses of power.
Could you chip in to power the fight against fascism and the fight for our rights in Congress?
Shamefully, this week the House passed a bill to give $70 billion more of our tax dollars to ICE. The Senate passed it last week, so Trump will sign it into law soon.
I will continue fighting back against ICE and pushing to abolish the lawless agency.
I’m leading legislation to prohibit ICE from buying and operating warehouse detention centers, like the ones they’re trying to put in my community despite widespread opposition.
I recently cosponsored policies to end special immunity for ICE agents when they commit murder or seriously injure someone, and to prohibit ICE from using facial recognition or other biometric surveillance.
I also joined my colleagues in opposing HUD’s proposed rule to evict families with mixed immigration statuses, and I’m running regular trainings about interacting with ICE and de-escalating violent situations to protect our neighbors.
I’m also pushing in the courts and in Congress to protect immigrants from Haiti, Yemen, Syria, and other countries who are here with Temporary Protected Status.
And I’ll keep rooting out corruption in our Capitol, including leading legislation to ban members of Congress from profiting off war, and cosponsoring policies like the Restore Trust in Congress Act—which would prohibit my colleagues from owning or selling stocks, so they stop profiting off insider information.
Unlike most members of Congress, I’m not a millionaire and I don’t take money from corporate PACs. Our re-election campaign depends on grassroots donations from people like you.
Please donate today to build a government that invests in our communities’ urgent needs such as housing, healthcare, and utilities—rather than war crimes and ICE detention camps.
