Headline from The Washington Post: "Trump called her 'garbage.' Rep. Ilhan Omar says she remains unfazed."
Friend — I told The Washington Post exactly what I told you.
I will never back down to Trump, despite his constant attacks and sham investigations.
Because, as racist and unbecoming as his attacks on me are, they pale in comparison to the damage being done by his administration and his party’s far-right policies.
Under Trump’s reign of terror, I have seen my community targeted, demonized, harassed, pepper-sprayed, zip-tied, beaten, arrested, and detained without charges.
Trump is going after his political enemies and entire groups of people that his hateful Republican allies want to silence, and he’s using ICE as his personal police force and the DOJ as his personal prosecutors to carry out those goals.
We have a historic responsibility to organize against this corrupt presidency and protect our communities from harm.
In countries across the world, fascism and totalitarianism have been defeated through the sheer determination of democracy and mass movements.
That’s why I’m laser-focused on building progressive power, from our neighborhoods here in Minneapolis to the halls of Congress, pushing towards November’s midterm elections as our chance to strike a fatal blow to Trump’s ability to carry out his agenda.
The best way you can help us propel this movement forward in the face of Trump’s constant attacks is to chip in and financially support our efforts to win big next year.
Please, friend: Make a contribution today and stand by my side as we fight back. We all have a role to play in defeating hate and authoritarianism. I’m hoping I can count on you to do your part, whatever that may be.
