Hi Patriot, My name is Jay Feely. I'm a husband, a father of four, a retired NFL player, sports broadcaster, and a proud Arizona conservative — and I'm running for Congress in Arizona's 1st District. Now — let me tell you who I am and why I believe God has called me to this fight. I grew up in a middle-class family in Florida, and was taught from a young age that our blessings aren't meant to be hoarded — they're meant to be poured out for others. That truth has shaped every chapter of my life. I earned a scholarship to the University of Michigan, won a National Championship in 1997, and went on to play fourteen years in the NFL. I wasn't the biggest or the fastest player on the field. But I was elected team captain on three different teams because my teammates trusted me to lead with integrity and fight for what was right. |
When the NFL went into lockout negotiations, my fellow players sent me to Washington to sit across the table from ownership at the Federal mediation office. I didn't back down then. I won't back down in Congress either. After football, I spent ten years as an NFL analyst for CBS, earning five Emmy Awards along the way. But the work I'm most proud of has nothing to do with broadcast booths or trophies. My wife Rebecca and I fell in love with Arizona fifteen years ago when I signed with the Cardinals. We loved it so much we decided it was the perfect place to raise our family — and we've been putting down roots here ever since. We founded the Feely Family Foundation to invest in youth and education. I served on the Gilbert Christian School Board. I started the first girls' soccer program at Gilbert Christian High School, coached our daughter Lexi's team to a state championship, and was named Arizona State Coach of the Year. |
This is home. These are our people. And I am not going to stand by and watch Washington fail them. |
