Dear Reader,

We’ve got great news to share. We exceeded our fundraising goal! Over the course of the last month, more than 100 people stepped up to support our nonprofit newsroom. Between the generosity of match pool donors and readers, we raised an incredible $41,000. Every dollar of these funds will help provide journalism that matters — without paywalls — that everyone in our region can use.

We don’t take that opportunity lightly. We’re proud to be a trusted news source for our region, delivering reporting that is relevant, responsible and gets results.

But we’re not resting on our laurels, or contenting ourselves with “the way we’ve always done things.” Instead, we’re continuing to expand the ways we serve local communities.
* We’re excited to have added our first geographically focused reporter role to the team. Lucas Dufalla ([link removed]) is our new southern communities reporter, covering the South Hills and the Mon Valley.
* Our neighborhood zines are going strong, highlighting the people, the places and the stories that make a neighborhood unique. Join us at our launch party for the Bloomfield/Friendship/Garfield zine on June 26 ([link removed]) and pick up your copy. Keep an eye out for the soon-to-be-released Homewood/Larimer edition!
* And we’re partnering with other organizations to help bring more local people into the conversation. From partnering with a local museum to help platform diverse voices, to working with creators to highlight affordable local experiences, we’ve got exciting projects coming up.
