Donald Trump took to Truth Social to push Congress to pass the “Save America” Act—the most heinous voting restrictions in the history of the country.

It has already failed to pass in the Senate, with some vulnerable MAGA Senators worried the bill would be so extreme that the backlash would cause them to lose their seats to Democrats.

But Trump has a new absolutely terrifying sales pitch—it’s actually the military that wants to restrict your right to vote:

Trump hasn’t hidden his desire to have the military get involved in elections. Earlier this year, he refused to rule out deploying the National Guard to voting locations ahead of the midterms.

And how does the Pentagon’s top brass feel about it? This was Pete Hegseth’s response to Trump on social media:

These are dark, serious, and unprecedented threats. 

Since the founding of this nation, the military has separated itself from partisan politics. It’s a key tenet of the separation of powers and there are multiple laws and military directives preventing personnel from being used for political purposes. But Trump and Hegseth not only seemed prepared but intending to cross that rubicon.

Trump’s assault on free and fair elections escalates every single day. While we don’t know what the full picture of his plans for November look like, the pieces are coming together and it’s not pretty. The gears are motion and he has the sycophants and crooks by his side ready and willing to do anything and everything necessary to make sure MAGA wins.
