As we head into Pride season, we think it’s important to discuss a question we get often: what can allies and supportive community members do during Pride? This time of the year is about more than celebration. It’s also about allies showing love and support to the LGBTQ+ adults and youth in their lives.

Our research shows that having just one accepting adult in their lives can lower an LGBTQ+ young person’s risk for suicide.

Allyship is more than a noun, it’s a commitment to action. The most important thing allies can do during Pride is to uplift young people by showing them that they matter and are seen exactly as they are.

In Trevor’s 2025 U.S. National Survey, LGBTQ+ young people reported their top ten actions adults can take to show support and “trusting that I know who I am” was number one on the list.

If you’re an ally, and want a helpful guide this Pride month, check out our blog and strengthen your allyship not only during June, but all year round.
