A new poll just dropped, John — and what’s in it should be a wake up call for the entire Party.
The AP-NORC’s poll found that Dem favorability among their own voters cratered after the 2024 election, and despite a string of special election wins across the country this cycle, that favorability hasn’t fully recovered.
The reason why? Two thirds say that Dems simply aren’t fighting hard enough.
This is the kind of trend that leads to low voter turnout in November. When people don’t believe their party is worth fighting for, they don’t show up. And when they don’t show up, we lose — regardless of how unpopular Trump is.
Because being the opposition isn’t enough. It has never been enough. Young voters in particular are searching desperately for leaders that give them a reason to hold out hope, and a vision for the future they can actually trust.
And we’ve seen what happens when they find one. The fire ignited in young voters by leaders like Mayor Mamdani is proof that when you put the right people in power and they actually create change for the lives of working people, voters will show up.
