Fully Funding ICE and Border Patrol Officers

Every day, ICE and Border Patrol officers put themselves in harm's way to combat terrorism, dismantle human trafficking networks, stop the flow of deadly drugs, take down cartels, and keep Americans safe. Yet for more than 100 days, congressional Democrats refused to advance funding for the agencies on the front lines of homeland security: ICE and Border Patrol.

By choosing far-left political games over providing these brave men and women with the resources they need to do their jobs, Democrats not only contributed to long TSA lines but also left the Department of Homeland Security unfunded, with threats coming from more places than ever because Democrats let millions of people into our country. Sadly, across the country and even in Louisiana, we’ve seen Americans who have been murdered by people who came here illegally that our Border Patrol agents are trying to stop so they can't kill more Americans.

This week, I proudly voted for the Secure America Act to fully fund the Department of Homeland Security, including our ICE and Border Patrol, and joined President Trump as he signed it into law to ensure that our Department of Homeland Security has the tools to keep our country safe so this never happens again.

Every Dollar Stolen by Fraudsters Is a Dollar Taken from Working Families

This month, House Republicans passed several bills to combat fraud and protect the American taxpayer. Unfortunately, fraudsters are stealing billions of taxpayer dollars from federal programs every year. In FY 2025 alone, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) estimated that $186 billion in taxpayer dollars were improperly paid through fraudulent actions.

It's not just taxpayers who suffer, many of these programs are intended to help mostly low-income people, kids with disabilities, or senior citizens. I proudly voted for legislation like the Fraud Prevention and Accountability Act and the Stopping Fraudulent Payments Act to ensure that no more taxpayer dollars are stolen by fraudsters.
