MAGA Governor Jeff Landry just signed Louisiana's redistrict into law erasing the majority-Black district of Congressman Cleo Fields. This is just the beginning. Now the real terror begins. 

This comes less than one month after LA suspended an ongoing congressional election following the SCOTUS decision to gut the law that ended Jim Crow era discrimination against minority voters. But they don’t plan to stop here. 

A group of extremist conservative white voters now plans to challenge the new map in hopes of getting a map that goes even further to eviscerate Black representation, by eliminating not just one but both of our majority-Black districts.

Once MAGA gets their Congressional map with all majority-white districts they'll go further. We expect them to begin dismantling dozens of Louisiana's Black state legislative districts.

Dem state power here relies on black voters and without these districts we are looking at the permanent extinction of the Democratic party in Louisiana.

We are now scrambling to prepare the defense of Congressman Cleo Fields (D-LA) 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘸 Congressman Troy Carter (D-LA). We must also begin preparing for an all out assault in the 2027 legislative elections, which if we lose means Dems never win in Louisiana again.
