Happy Pride Month 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️

This month, I'm thinking about how far we've come, how much the Trump administration has tried to undo progress, and how much work is still left to do.
We, alongside and in support of the LGBTQIA+ community, are watching hard-won rights and protections come under attack again and again. Too many people in positions of power are treating basic dignity and equality like partisan issues.
That's why I am clear about where I stand.
Everyone deserves the freedom to live openly, safely, and with dignity.
I've been leading a months-long effort to reinstate funding for the “press 3” option of 988 for LGBTQIA+ youth, a lifesaving mental health resource. I am a longtime cosponsor of the Equality Act, as well as the Transgender Bill of Rights from its first introduction in Congress. And I’m a proud cosponsor of the “No Place for LGBTQ+ Hate Act,” which would repeal five of Trump’s most harmful executive orders targeting the LGBTQIA+ community. Not to make a political statement, but because it is the right thing to do. No one should be treated as less than equal in the country they call home. Equality is not optional, and it is a promise worth fighting for.
