Friend – June marks National Immigrant Heritage Month.
And as we celebrate the generations of immigrants who helped build America and Colorado, I want to make one thing clear:
The last thing we need is a new ICE detention center in Colorado.
That's why I'm renewing my call for Trump's Department of Homeland Security to abandon any plans to expand ICE operations in Colorado without meaningful oversight, accountability or respect for basic human dignity. If you're with me in this fight, then please be one of the 20,000 grassroots co-signers I'm asking to join me today.
This is a moral failure we cannot ignore or sanction – and as a second-generation immigrant myself, the fight is personal to me.
After surviving the Holocaust, my mother and her parents reunited, left Poland and made their way to the United States to rebuild their shattered lives.
If I'm honored enough to be our state's next governor, Colorado will not become a home for Trump’s cruel anti-immigration agenda – and I will use every option at my disposal to:
👉 Prosecute federal agents who violate the law
👉 Block new detention centers from being built
👉 Require judicial warrants, body cameras and visible ID on DHS agents
I’ve spent my career standing with Colorado's immigrant communities. As governor, that won't change. So I'll fight this lawless administration every step of the way.
But it's going to take all of us coming together to make it happen. So please, add your name to stand up for our people, our safety and our way of life before the end of the day.
In solidarity,
Michael
