Earlier this month, the Trump Administration announced they were no longer “moving forward” with their $1.8 billion anti-weaponization fund — the plan to funnel taxpayer money directly to January 6th insurrectionists and other Trump allies.
But it was obvious from the start: They were never going to kill it. Now, the Trump Administration’s allies are directing January 6th defendants to go around the official anti-weaponization fund, and file claims under an obscure law from 1946.
I want to make this clear: Rioters and election deniers do not deserve a penny of taxpayer money for bearing the consequences of their own actions. So I’m doing something about it.
This week, Senator Michael Bennet and I sent a memo directly to the Department of Justice demanding a full list of January 6th defendants who have filed for taxpayer-funded settlements.
But we can’t win this fight on our own. To take on an institution as large — and as corrupt — as this Administration’s D.O.J., we need thousands of people to stand with us. Please, will you sign your name to my new petition and demand Trump’s Department of Justice release the full list of Trump’s slush fund applicants? [[link removed]]

Thank you for standing with me.
