John ,
Last month, we asked our community to step up. The fight against the proposed Stratos data center was moving quickly. The Box Elder Accountability Referendum (B.E.A.R.) effort was just taking shape. And communities across Utah were looking for ways to push back against a project that threatens our water, air quality, energy future, and democratic voice. What happened next was incredible.
Together, supporters like you helped Stewardship Utah welcome 65 new members , including 17 new monthly donors , and raise $22,140.49 to support this fight and the work still ahead. That matters because every new member represents something bigger than a donation. It represents another Utahn willing to stand up for our communities, our environment, and our future.
Over the last several weeks, we've seen everyday Utahns step up in extraordinary ways. People have volunteered, attended meetings, shared action items with friends and neighbors, and invested their hard-earned dollars into building grassroots power. And it's working. Leaders who once celebrated Stratos without question are now talking about water use, energy demand, and accountability. That's not happening by accident. It's happening because people across the state are organizing. Real change doesn't come from billionaire investors, special interests, or political insiders. It comes from ordinary people deciding to act together.
So before we dive into the next chapter of this work, we'd like to take a moment to celebrate the people who make it all possible: you. That's why, if you live in the Salt Lake area, we're inviting you to join us for our Second Annual StewFest , a summer celebration dedicated to our members, volunteers, supporters, and their families.
Wednesday, June 24 5:30–8:00 PM Jordan Park (International Peace Gardens) Southwest Pavilion 1060 S 900 W, Salt Lake City [[link removed]]
We'll gather for an evening of food, drinks, games, and community as we celebrate everything we've accomplished together over the last year and look ahead to the work still to come.
Whether you've been with us for years or just joined during the recent membership drive, we'd love to spend an evening connecting, sharing stories, and thanking you in person. Stewardship Utah staff will be there to answer questions, share updates, and enjoy some well-earned time together outside the office. We will once again be manning the grill, so come hungry. This is a family-friendly event, and all ages are welcome.
Please RSVP so we can make sure we have enough food and refreshments for everyone.

Together, we're proving that everyday Utahns can still shape the future of our state. And we're just getting started.
Onward!
