John,
Congress is quietly attempting to deepen and formalize military integration between the United States and Israel through the annual “must pass” National Defense Authorization Act -- and what a relief it would be if Representative Ro Khanna succeeds in stripping this dangerous provision from the bill!
The proposed “United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative” would expand joint weapons production, merge military AI research, and further intertwine the U.S. and Israeli military-industrial complexes. This not-easily-visible expansion could lock American taxpayers into supporting Israel’s devastating military campaigns for years to come.
At a time when Gaza and the broader Middle East continue to be engulfed in violence, we do not want tax dollars fueling more warfare, escalation, and human suffering. Passing this amendment would send a powerful message that Congress is finally willing to step back from policies that perpetuate endless regional turmoil, instead of advancing diplomacy and peace.
Tell Congress: Block legislation that would expand U.S. military cooperation with Israel!
On both the “left” and the “right,” there is a boiling frustration with these “forever wars” and open-ended military entanglements that drain public resources while failing to do anything to make the world safer. The United States must stop being pulled deeper into conflicts that do not serve the public good and repeatedly intensify humanitarian catastrophe.
Yet lawmakers are attempting to bury this military expansion inside the NDAA precisely because it is considered “must-pass” legislation. Embedding even deeper military cooperation into annual defense policy is an attempt to normalize permanent alignment with Israel’s war efforts without meaningful public debate.
The proposal would also weaken oversight and transparency surrounding military coordination and weapons support. Instead of increasing accountability to us, citizens and taxpayers, over foreign military entanglements, it would further obscure how American resources, technology, and defense infrastructure are being used abroad.
Representative Ro Khanna’s amendment removing the initiative from the NDAA would be a huge step toward reclaiming a foreign policy centered on diplomacy, restraint, and preventing further large-scale human suffering rather than enabling continual conflagration.
Tell Congress: Support Ro Khanna’s amendment and reject expanded U.S.-Israeli military integration in the NDAA.
Thank you for demanding a government that works toward peace instead of perpetuating endless war.
