This week marks the anniversary of Griswold v. Connecticut , the landmark Supreme Court decision of 1960 that recognized the right of married couples to use birth control.
For decades, that decision helped establish a fundamental principle: that deeply personal decisions about our health, our families, and our futures belong to us—not the government.
Today, that principle is under attack.
Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade , we have seen efforts to roll back reproductive rights across the country, including attempts to restrict access to contraception. And while the vast majority of Americans support access to birth control, many Republican-controlled legislatures and right-wing organizations are aggressively pushing policies that would put the right and the ability to access birth control at risk.
That is why last year I filed the Right to Contraception Act , a bill to protect access to safe, effective, FDA-approved birth control for people across our country. And it’s why this week, I filed a discharge petition to force the House of Representatives to vote on it. 198 Members of Congress have already signed the discharge petition.
Will you add your name to our citizens petition to show your support for protecting the right to contraception and urge Congress to take action? [[link removed]]

Efforts to restrict access to birth control are not about reflecting the will of the American people. They are about taking away the freedom, privacy, dignity, and autonomy that Americans deserve.
As a representative from Texas—a state where reproductive rights have been under relentless attack—I will continue working with my colleagues in Congress to protect and restore the rights and freedoms that women and families depend on. We cannot afford to take these rights for granted, and we cannot give up.
Defending our freedoms requires all of us to stay engaged, organized, and committed to the work ahead.
If you agree that every American should have the freedom to access contraception and make their own health care decisions, please add your name today. [[link removed]]
