John,
59 years ago today, the Supreme Court made a landmark decision in
Loving v. Virginia - striking down laws banning interracial marriage and paving the way for countless civil rights advancements.
As the daughter of an African-American father and a Korean mother, this decision made my family’s story possible, just as it did for millions of other interracial families across our country.
But nearly six decades later, our most fundamental rights are under attack.
Trump’s ultra-conservative Supreme Court has embraced an extremist agenda aimed at rolling back many of our hard-fought rights and freedoms, like our right to vote.
Before the end of the month, the Court is expected to issue major decisions that could reshape our nation - including cases involving birthright citizenship, presidential power, and voting rules and mail-in ballots.
I am committed to doing whatever it takes to protect and safeguard the fundamental rights and democratic values that define our country, which is why I’m asking you to sign this petition today:
You elected me to defend our values, and that’s exactly what I am doing.
Please, take action and add your name today.
