This month marks six years since Michael Brown was killed by police in Ferguson, Missouri.
His murder sparked a national movement for racial justice and a conversation surrounding police brutality that we continue to this day.
But instead of acknowledging the reality of millions of Black Americans, the Trump Administration is cracking down on protestors this year, deploying federal agents to cities across the United States.
This abuse of power is despicable, and has no place in our democracy. Will you sign on and demand Congress pass a law banning police brutality?
In memory of Michael, we’re organizing a petition to get 50,000 signatures and demand Congress put an effective ban on police brutality.
Americans have the right to peacefully protest against racism and injustice… and they have the right to do so without unjustly being attacked or arrested.
In the 11 days between May 26 and June 5 alone, Amnesty International documented 125 separate cases of police violence against protesters in 40 states.
We need Congress to know:
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. And it will not go unnoticed.
