Tell Congress to take a stand for wildlife and climate action in recovery
legislation.TAKE ACTION

[[link removed]]John,
In less than 15 days your representative and senators are heading back to
Washington, D.C. to make decisions that will help or harm wildlife like the
lynx. Tell Congress to pass long-term recovery legislation that reduces
climate-disrupting carbon pollution, improves the nation’s resilience to climate
impacts, and helps rebuild our economy.

Canada lynx are adapted to the cold climate of their snowy, forest habitats— but rising temperatures threaten their survival.
[[link removed]] A warmer climate and less snowfall mean lynx don’t have the deep snow cover
they depend on.
With our leaders debating where to invest trillions of dollars for economic
recovery, we must make sure wildlife are not left behind.
[[link removed]] By restoring carbon-absorbing habitats and creating clean energy jobs, Congress
can take immediate and long-term climate action for wildlife.
Speak out for wildlife: Tell Congress that fighting climate change can help our
economy recover!

ACT ON CLIMATE
[[link removed]]
As snowpack recedes, lynx face two critical, climate change-caused challenges.
With their snowy habitat melting earlier, snowshoe hare—the main source of
sustenance for lynx—are seeing their populations decline. Wildlife biologists
are also raising the alarm that climate change is leading to smaller ranges for
lynx, leading to a threatening drop in genetic diversity. Zachary, with climate
change reducing food sources and the species' long-term ability to adapt and
survive, call on Congress to take climate action for lynx today.

Now is the time for Congress to invest in climate action that protects our most
at-risk wildlife species, rebuilds our economy, and safeguards public health.
[[link removed]] Investments in clean energy and transportation can ensure the U.S. addresses
the climate crisis and reduces harmful carbon emissions. And restoration of
forests, wetlands, and other naturally occurring landscapes will help provide
crucial habitat for wildlife, sequester harmful carbon emissions, and boost
community resilience to climate change-fueled natural disasters.
Thank you for all you do for vulnerable wildlife.
Sincerely,
Shannon Heyck-Williams
