John,

Chances are you’ve heard me talk about my inspiration in life, my Grandma Fern.

It was right around this time every year that I spent two weeks with my grandma on our farm outside of Lake Mills, after baseball and before the start of the school year. She was the type of lady that had breakfast on the table at 4:30am when I had to be out the door by 5.

Grandma Fern was also the person who inspired me to do something I’d never thought was the plan for me: run for Congress. In one of our last conversations before she passed away, she told me to take care of the farm. That really hit me. Eventually, that snowballed into my desire to serve Iowa’s 4th congressional district and protect not only our family farm but farms across the district and rural communities that aren’t what they once were.

Today, we’re launching a brand new ad, inspired by my Grandma Fern. In tough times like these, she believed in the faith of our community to come together. I still have that faith today.

Faith that we can overcome this pandemic and come out stronger than before. Faith in the farmers who aren't given a fair shake but still wake up and get the job done. Faith in Iowans to stick together and support each other through thick and thin.

John, we're asking you to put your faith in us. Watch our new ad and chip in (if you can) to help make sure everyone has a chance to see it.

Bobo and J.D. in Sergeant Bluff!
Last week, I was in central Iowa, helping folks pick up the pieces from the derecho. We saw first hand -- in the community food drives and in the acts of kindness by strangers -- the strength and resilience Iowans have shown in the face of adversity. It's made us want to work even harder to deliver the change families need.

I’m giving this everything I’ve got to live up to that promise I made to Grandma Fern. If you can, I’m asking you to give $3 or whatever you can afford to help keep us going.
