My name is Brian Bengs. I’m a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, a JAG Corps officer, and until recently, I wore the uniform of a Wind Cave National Park Ranger.

I am running to represent South Dakota in the United States Senate as an Independent because I believe in the Cowboy Code of the West: tell the truth and take care of your neighbor.

How many American politicians can honestly say they tell their constituents the truth or vote to materially improve their lives? The list is depressingly small.

The modern U.S. Senate is a country club full of career politicians like Mike Rounds, who answer only to corporate PACs and D.C. party bosses. They have become far more comfortable in Washington than in the states that elected them, and they believe their wealth and loyalty to the party exempts them from the basic principles of service and integrity.

That’s why we have chaos in our country. That’s why prices are out of control. That’s why working-class folks in South Dakota get ignored.

I served this country for 26 years in the military. I don't answer to a political party or a single personality because I swore an oath to the Constitution. The D.C. establishment assumed an Independent couldn't compete with a PAC-funded incumbent. But the data we just received from our latest internal poll is a political earthquake:

When voters hear my story and compare it to Mike Rounds' record, the race flips entirely. I take a 2-point lead.

⚪ Brian Bengs: 44%

🔴 Mike Rounds: 42%

Only 35% of voters believe Mike Rounds deserves to be re-elected, and he has a dismal 17% approval rating among independent voters. South Dakotans are exhausted by the status quo.

But taking on millions in corporate money requires a team built on principles, not privilege. Mike Rounds is going to spend millions to bury my biography before the rest of the state can hear it. We need the resources to get our message out to the voters who are waiting for an alternative.

Listen, I know you can’t donate to every race or every email. But here’s the strategic reality of why an investment in our campaign is the smartest play you can make: Because South Dakota is the most efficient media market in the country, your dollar is mathematically turbocharged here.
