May 26: AG Rokita participates in White House roundtable on fighting fraud
AG Rokita had productive discussions with Vice President JD Vance, FTC Chair Andrew Ferguson, and other state attorneys general on how federal and state governments can partner more effectively to combat Medicaid fraud — a problem that hits our most vulnerable citizens hardest.
Since 2021, our team has recovered more than $100 million in taxpayer funds lost to welfare provider fraud within the Medicaid system. Looking to the future, we know there will be more individuals who attempt to commit this crime, but Hoosiers can be confident that we will continue working to hold them accountable and uphold the law.

Attorney General Todd Rokita unveils office's new, patriotic America 250 seal
Attorney General Todd Rokita recently released the official Indiana Attorney General’s America 250 seal, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States.
“It is an incredible honor to serve as Indiana’s Attorney General during this historic milestone, so we wanted to do something meaningful to recognize it,” said Attorney General Rokita. “The timeless values that forged our country — self-governance, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness — are the very ideals our office fights tirelessly to defend every single day. This “America 250” seal is a visual reminder of that daily mission and our unwavering commitment to ensuring that our sacred, God-given rights are maintained.”
The new circular seal features a blindfolded Lady Justice holding the scales high against a waving American flag backdrop. The bold “250 YEARS” sits prominently in the center, encircled by the words “Indiana Attorney General” and “America’s 250th Anniversary.”
“The blindfold on Lady Justice in this seal is not just symbolism, it’s an anti-DEI statement of truth,” Rokita added. “She doesn’t care what color you are. She doesn’t care if you’re a man or a woman. She doesn’t care how rich or poor you are. True justice must be completely impartial — blind to politics, power, special interests, or identity. As we mark 250 years of American liberty, our office will continue to defend that principle against government overreach, radical ideologies, and those who seek to divide us. This anniversary is not just a celebration — it is a call to every Hoosier to actively renew and protect the Republic our founders entrusted
to us.”
Watch Attorney General Rokita unveil the seal and describe its meaning here.

Attorney General Todd Rokita celebrates Indiana Supreme Court’s refusal to reopen Gary’s frivolous decades-old lawsuit against firearms industry
A 27-year-old lawsuit by the City of Gary against law-abiding firearm manufacturers and sellers is officially dead — no longer posing a threat to Hoosiers’ Second Amendment rights.
On Thursday, the Indiana Supreme Court denied Gary’s efforts to revive its lawsuit, cementing a victory by Attorney General Todd Rokita and his team after the Indiana Court of Appeals dismissed the case in December.
“Over a quarter of a century after this lawsuit began, I am proud to be the Attorney General who has finally ended the City of Gary’s relentless campaign to harass the firearms industry,” Attorney General Rokita said. “This huge victory prevents a single city or small group of cities from using baseless lawsuits to dictate how guns are sold across our entire state, ensuring that responsible, law-abiding citizens can continue to exercise their Second Amendment rights.”
Attorney General Rokita expressed gratitude to Solicitor General James Barta, who argued the case last year before the Indiana Court of Appeals.

Attorney General Todd Rokita celebrates Indiana Supreme Court victory upholding landmark pro-life law
The Indiana Supreme Court rejected Planned Parenthood’s petition to transfer jurisdiction, ensuring that last August’s Indiana Court of Appeals decision upholding the state’s landmark pro-life law will stand. The ruling marks a decisive victory for Attorney General Todd Rokita and his office in their efforts to protect unborn life.
“This is a major victory for the rule of law, for unborn Hoosiers, and for the people of Indiana who elected us to protect innocent life,” Attorney General Rokita said. “Our office has fought tirelessly to defend this pro-life law, and no matter how many times Planned Parenthood drags us back into court to push their culture of death, we will never back down. We will keep fighting for mothers, fathers, and every unborn child in this state.”
Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers argued in their challenge that the law’s health exceptions allowing abortions were too narrow to comply with the Indiana Constitution’s life and liberty protections. The Indiana Court of Appeals ruling found that the law’s “reasonable medical judgment” standard for the exceptions was constitutional.
In 2025, Indiana recorded 126 abortions — down from 9,529 in 2022 before the law was in effect.
“Making abortion illegal is one thing — making it unthinkable is our ultimate goal,” Attorney General Rokita said. “Indiana is proving we’re winning that fight with real results, but our work is far from finished. We will push forward relentlessly — not only defending our laws but transforming the culture so every unborn child is valued and protected.”
Attorney General Rokita thanked Solicitor General James Barta and his outstanding team for their exceptional work and unwavering commitment throughout this hard-fought victory.

Indiana Unclaimed turns fast lap by returning $59 million in first four months of 2026
‘This could be a new track record,’ says Attorney General Todd Rokita
Attorney General Todd Rokita’s Unclaimed Property Division has returned more than $59 million to rightful owners — raising the realistic possibility of setting a new winning pace in 2026.
The largest sum returned by the Unclaimed Property Division was $88 million in 2025.
“Hoosiers throw around a lot of racing metaphors during the month of May,” Attorney General Rokita said. “Well, this could be a new track record for our Unclaimed Property Division.”
Now is the time to take a pit stop at IndianaUnclaimed.gov and search your name — or loved ones’ names — to see whether anyone’s wallet gets a quick splash of fuel. Nearly $1 billion remains unclaimed statewide.
Unclaimed property includes:
-
Unclaimed wages or commissions
-
Safe deposit box contents
-
Savings and checking accounts
-
Overpayments such as: credit card balances, cell phone bills
Once property is in its custody, the Unclaimed Property Division conducts an aggressive outreach effort to locate rightful owners or heirs. Individuals and/or businesses have 25 years to claim money once it’s reported to the Unclaimed Property Division.
Visit IndianaUnclaimed.gov or text CLAIM to 46220 to search your name, family or business. You can also contact the Unclaimed Property Division at 1-866-462-5246 or [email protected].

Some of these defective items can cause serious injury or even death. Please take these recalls seriously — check your homes today and keep your loved ones safe.”
