John,
As tens of millions of Americans struggle to make ends meet, billionaires have seen their collective wealth skyrocket by 30% during the pandemic, an increase of $732 billion—or $5.2 billion per day since mid-March.
Did you see Deborah’s email below? Take a moment to add your name as a grassroots sponsor of the Make Billionaires Pay Act which would place a one-time 60% tax on billionaires' pandemic profits to fund health expenses of millions of Americans.

Tell Congress:
"Billionaires have seen their collective wealth skyrocket by 30% during the pandemic, an increase of $732 billion—or $5.2 billion per day since mid-March. Congress must pass Senator Bernie Sanders’s and Representative Ilhan Omar’s “Make Billionaires Pay Act” to place a one-time 60% tax, targeted on this obscene increase in wealth among the nation’s richest families and put that money toward covering the out-of-pocket healthcare expenses of millions of U.S. families."

John,
The rich and powerful continue to profit, even in the midst of a global pandemic. Meanwhile tens of millions of working people have lost their jobs and struggle to cover the rent and the monthly bills.
The health care crisis created by this pandemic is far from over. So far, more than 5.5 million Americans have contracted COVID-19 and more than 174,000 have died from the disease.
At a time when millions of families throughout the United States are stretched to the breaking point, Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Ilhan Omar have introduced the Make Billionaire’s Pay Act to place a one-time tax on the growth of billionaire wealth between mid-March and the end of this year.
We need your support, John. Become a grassroots co-sponsor of the Make Billionaires Pay Act to deploy some of the pandemic profits of America's billionaires to cover the medical costs of millions of Americans.
The Make Billionaires Pay Act would:
Place a one-time 60% tax on the growth in billionaire wealth between March 18 to December 31 and use that revenue―$422 billion as of August 5―to cover the out-of-pocket healthcare expenses of millions of Americans for the next 12 months.
Even with the tax in effect, the legislation would preserve $310 billion, as of early August, in wealth gains for these 467 billionaires ― leaving them an extraordinary growth in wealth over just 4 1/2 months.
No viable vaccine has been created. But once we have a vaccine and treatment for COVID-19, we will have to fight to make sure people―regardless of wealth or income―are able to receive the vaccine to keep their families safe. The Make Billionaires Pay Act could go a long way to accomplish that goal.
Together, we must demand that billionaires of this country start paying their fair share toward pandemic relief efforts. Add your name today to become a grassroots co-sponsor of the Make Billionaires Pay Act!
These are challenging times. Thank you for your continued help to fight for vulnerable people throughout our country.
