But our country’s broken healthcare system prioritizes profits over people, forcing millions of Americans into crippling debt just to afford the care they need. Medicare for All would improve on the successful and beloved government-run program for seniors, expanding coverage to include mental health services, prescription drugs, dental, vision, substance abuse treatment, long-term care services like nursing homes, and reproductive health services—all without monthly premiums, copays, or deductibles.

No wonder 70% of Americans want Medicare for All—including a majority of Republicans and nearly 90% of Democrats!

However, despite its popularity, big health insurance and pharmaceutical corporations have successfully influenced policymakers to block Medicare for All.

Why? Because pharmaceutical and insurance company CEOs want to keep profiting off our pain, our illnesses, and our deaths. As healthcare costs go up, their salaries skyrocket.

Now is the time for our political leaders to reject the for-profit health insurance scam. And it’s past time for Medicare for All, a truly universal, single-payer plan that will ensure we can all access the care that we need to survive and thrive.

Everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, especially the most vulnerable among us who’ve been disproportionately affected by this pandemic, such as people with chronic health conditions, undocumented people, incarcerated and detained people, low-wage workers, and people without shelter.

No one deserves to die because they’re too poor. No one should have to choose between rent and healthcare, or food and healthcare. We deserve better, and the time is NOW.

We need as many signatures as possible to show the Democratic presidential and vice presidential candidates that there’s no time to lose—they must make Medicare for All a part of their policy plan.
