Friends,
To beat COVID-19, we must support our medical researchers, academic institutions, scientists, and doctors as they work tirelessly to discover cures and treatments, and ultimately a safe and effective vaccine, for COVID-19. That is why I have been leading the bipartisan push for more funding for COVID-19 medical research.
I voted in favor of the CARES Act allocating more than $945 million to the National Institutes of Health to support the development of a safe and effective vaccine. Additionally, it’s important that we also make sure the vaccine is accessible to everyone, including Medicare beneficiaries. That is why I recently sent a bipartisan letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator requesting CMS make all recommended vaccines accessible to Medicare beneficiaries.
It’s important that a vaccine is accessible to everyone in order to combat the coronavirus.
Thank you for reading, and as always please reach out to my office if you have any questions or need help with a federal agency and please stay safe.
All the best,
