The Arctic Refuge is an irreplaceable, million-year-old ecosystem - one of the wildest, most beautiful places on Earth.

For the third time, the lease sale failed. No major oil companies showed up. No real revenue is coming because these companies know that drilling in the Refuge is risky, unpopular, and unnecessary. But still, Trump wants to keep trying.

Even with gas prices sky high, major oil companies are not lining up to drill in the pristine Arctic Refuge. That should tell us something.

This isn’t the answer to skyrocketing gas prices.

Congress needs to act fast. We should permanently protect the Arctic Refuge and focus on durable economic opportunities.

I’ve spent my career fighting to protect our public lands, our coastlines, and the places that cannot be replaced once they are gone.

I’m not going to stop now.
