[1]Mark Kelly for Senate
Friend, when Gabby and I first agreed that I would run for Senate back in 2019, we knew things would change. We know more than most how public service can change your life.
But I’ve got to tell you, I never intended for things to end up like this. All I wanted to do was keep serving my country, the same way I have since I was sworn in to the U.S. Navy.
I know that service comes with risk, sure. But I didn’t set out to be called a traitor by the richest guy in the world, or to have Trump calling for my arrest and hanging.
Now, I don’t want you to worry about me. And after everything I’ve been through, things like this don’t intimidate me all that much.
I do worry that they will intimidate others, though — people just beginning to get involved. People thinking about joining a peaceful demonstration, or speaking out at a local town hall. I worry that Trump and his cronies are trying to scare people out of resisting him, and that it might be working.
But then I look back at this team. You’ve been with me a long time, and you haven’t backed down. Your support means the world to me, but it also gives me a lot of hope that enough people will stand up, push back, and make sure these guys don’t stay in power.
I’m ready to fight like hell to save our democracy. If you’re with me, please:
We’re coming up on our mid-month deadline, and this is an official FEC filing deadline month. Make a donation so we can have the resources we need to defeat MAGA Republicans up and down the ballot this year.
