*NOTICE OF RULEMAKING*

Notice is hereby given that the Superintendent of the Bureau of Insurance has extended the period to receive comments concerning the amendment of Rule 135 "Employee Benefit Excess Insurance". The rule will update provisions in response to market activity.

The rule is proposed in accordance with 24-A M.R.S. §§ 212 and 24-A M.R.S. § 707(3).
The primary source of information relied upon by the Bureau of Insurance in developing the proposed rule is Bureau staff’s professional judgment.

All interested persons are invited to submit written comments. Written comments must be received no later than June 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. and should be addressed to: Stacy Bergendahl, 34 State House Station, Augusta, ME 04333-0034 or [email protected]. A copy of the statement of impact on small business may be obtained from the same addresses.
