Tell the EPA:
Protect Our Communities From Toxic Coal Ash

Trump’s EPA is trying to gut critical safeguards that protect communities from
coal ash, the toxic sludge produced by burning coal for electricity. This
rollback would let coal plants off the hook for their pollution, allowing them
to expose more people to hazardous chemicals linked to cancer and other serious
health issues. Our communities deserve healthy neighborhoods, safe drinking water, and
protection from toxic pollution — not giveaways to the coal industry. We need to
speak out against this dangerous proposal.

The comment period closes JUNE 12 and the EPA needs to hear from you. Don’t wait — add your name today and tell the EPA to protect communities from toxic coal ash! [link removed] ADD YOUR NAME [link removed] Friend, The EPA's job is to protect people from pollution — not to protect polluters
from accountability. But right now, Trump’s EPA is trying to dismantle critical safeguards that
protect communities from toxic coal ash, so that coal companies can delay,
avoid, or minimize cleanup of dangerous waste contaminating our water and
communities. For decades, the coal industry has dumped its hazardous coal ash into unlined
pits that poison drinking water, lakes, and rivers — and they have a
responsibility to clean up their dirty work. This proposed rule, however, would
dismantle protections for both operating and retired coal power plants,
exempting hundreds of coal ash dumps from regulations and making it even easier
for Big Polluters to contaminate our communities with chemicals linked to
cancer, neurological damage, reproductive harm, and other serious health issues. The public comment period closes soon, and the EPA needs to hear from you. Add your name today to demand Big Polluters clean up their toxic coal ash >> [link removed] Rolling back coal ash protections will make families and communities sicker.
Period. And this will hit hardest in neighborhoods closest to power plants, which are
disproportionately low-income communities and communities of color. Every day
that cleanup is delayed, more toxic waste can seep into our water systems,
making contamination more difficult to clean up, and increasing the risk to
people, wildlife, and our environment. Join LCV in calling for strong coal ash protections and accountability for Big
Polluters. Add your name today and tell the EPA that our communities deserve clean water, healthy neighborhoods, and protection from toxic pollution — not giveaways to corporate polluters. [link removed] Thank you for taking action with LCV, for people and for our planet. Lizzy Duncan
