Time: Trump Storms Out of NBC Interview After Being Challenged on False Claims [[link removed]]
Our elections in general and mail-in ballots in particular are under attack from the president again. Here's what happened:
First, Donald Trump was speaking with Meet the Press host Kristen Welker about the January 6th attack on the Capitol. Trump lied, claiming that the FBI actually ushered rioters inside the Capitol and that the individuals only pleaded guilty out of fear of getting harsher sentences. Welker challenged the lack of evidence behind his claims, to which he responded, “ There’s a lot of evidence ,” without offering any specifics.
That was only the beginning. The President then repeated his longstanding claim that the 2020 presidential election, which he lost to Joe Biden, was rigged, and that a “ dirty ” election was “ happening again right now ” in California, where several key races are taking place. California famously takes a long time to count ballots due to the nature of its open primaries, and some candidates faded in the results as more ballots were counted.
The answer here is simple: If Trump doesn't like the outcome of an election, he claims it was rigged. When states count mail-in ballots and the results change after the Election Day totals are counted, he claims it's all a scam to hurt him and his party despite a clear partisan difference in the party affiliation of people who choose to vote by mail. We can't let his lies tell the whole story.
Defending our fundamental right to vote is crucial for the midterms. Will you help us protect the use of mail-in ballots with $35 or whatever you can today? >> [[link removed]]

He couldn't stop himself as Kristen Welker pressed for more details. “ It’s four days and they aren’t even close ,” Trump told Welker of the pace of vote-counting in the state, adding that the election was “ rigged .” Welker then pressed, “ Do you have evidence to support that? ” to which Trump answered, “ All I have to do is look .”
When Welker mentioned what local officials have said about the process, Trump said, “ They’re crooked. Just like you’re crooked. Your press is crooked and Meet the Press is crooked .” Trump continued to attack her, saying that she was “ either crooked ” or “ stupid ” and that she had no “ credibility .” He then broadened the target of his rant to other non-Fox News media outlets, slamming ABC, CBS, and CNN by name.
Then he walked out. Confronted with his lies and a demand to explain himself, he threw a temper tantrum and left . With our elections and our fundamental right to vote under such hostile threat, we need to step up and do what is necessary ourselves to inform voters, register new ones, and defend voting rights nationwide.
Chip in $35 or whatever you can to fight Trump and MAGA's lies about mail-in voting and turn out every voter possible this fall >> [[link removed]]

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
