The United States Postal Service is our most popular federal agency — and for good reason. Texans rely on the USPS for everything from sending a birthday card to a loved one to receiving their prescription medication on time.

But Trump has never cared about the people, he only cares about staying in power. That’s why he installed one of his top donors, Louis DeJoy, as the Postmaster General, to kneecap the USPS before an election where an unprecedented number of Americans will be relying on mail-in ballots to cast their vote.

DeJoy spent his first days on the job slashing worker pay and overtime, decommissioning hundreds of mail-sorting machines, and removing mailboxes across the country. It’s bad enough that DeJoy and Trump are trying to sabotage vote-by-mail during a pandemic. But if we don’t stop them, they will take down the USPS once and for all.

The Postal Service isn’t just necessary for mail-in ballots. They deliver mail to our rural areas, deliver essentials like medications and paychecks, and employ over 100,000 Military members and U.S. Veterans. The USPS is a pathway to the middle class for hundreds of thousands of hard-working mail carriers, and all of us depend on the USPS to keep delivering our mail on time.
