In case you missed our Town Hall last week, here's what we covered—because the state of reproductive rights in the U.S. right now demands your attention. Anti-abortion extremists haven't just created a reproductive health crisis; they've created a legal one. A patchwork of contradictory state laws is leaving patients without care and providers afraid to act. It's not just unjust. It's putting lives at risk. [[link removed]]
FIGHT BACK WITH US [[link removed]]
Here’s what you need to know right now about the legal state of reproductive rights in the U.S. today:
* Ambiguity is a weapon. Anti-abortion laws are often written vaguely—sometimes deliberately—to sow fear, create confusion, and give extremists new tools to punish patients and providers alike.
* State bans are going national. Laws like South Carolina 4760 are designed to reach beyond state lines, limiting access to medication abortion more than ever. The goal: intimidate doctors and erode abortion access everywhere, even in states where rights are still protected.
* Medication abortion remains under siege. Mifepristone is used in more than 60% of U.S. abortions. The Supreme Court recently paused the latest effort to restrict it but make no mistake: that's a delay, not a victory. The attacks are not stopping.
This is a hard moment. There's no pretending otherwise. But when I think about the brave plaintiffs who have taken on unjust laws head-on—and when I think about the people behind us who refuse to give up [[link removed]] —I have hope.
Thank you for being in this fight.
Onward,
Liz Wagner
