Friend — There’s a feeling when you finally have the opportunity
to purchase your first home that reminds me of childhood. That excitement
of the unknown and the knowledge that a dream is finally becoming a
reality is overwhelming, especially after years of scrimping and saving.
But for too many Americans, that feeling is just that, a dream.
Homeownership shouldn’t feel out of reach or abstract, it should be an
opportunity open to everyone. A chance to build stability, build wealth,
and put down roots in a community you love.

A stable home is the starting point for building anything else: raising

Today, that foundation is under strain. Corporate investors are snapping
up homes before families ever get a chance. Every day, buyers are getting
squeezed out of their own neighborhoods.
That’s why I’ve been pushing practical solutions to bring costs down and
expand access to homeownership.
I voted for the bipartisan ROAD to Housing Act to cut red tape and
increase supply. I’ve supported the Appraisal Modernization Act to
confront bias and improve transparency in home values. And I’ve fought to
expand home repair assistance so working families aren’t pushed out of
homes they’ve worked hard to maintain.
It’s important for me to support policies that can actually move us toward
a housing system that works for working people again. [ [link removed] ]So this
