John, it's Team Brad reaching out to let you know that Brad's federal court sentencing date is TODAY. Here's how we got here:
FIRST: Brad started court-watching a year ago, when ICE started abducting immigrants from the hallways. Over the past year, he’s met hundreds of immigrants at 26 Federal Plaza – escorting them, connecting them to legal support, and advocating for their release from ICE detention. You can hear a few of their stories here.
NEXT: Last September, Brad was arrested alongside 10 other elected officials and an additional 70 New Yorkers while demanding access to the inhumane detention facilities on the 10th floor of 26 Federal Plaza.
THEN: Brad pled not guilty to these charges as part of the broader effort by tens of thousands of activists across the city and the country to bear witness and hold ICE accountable. The crime is not what Brad did at 26 Federal Plaza. The crime is what ICE is doing.
NOW: Brad’s trial is today. Regardless of the ruling, he will keep showing up to hold ICE accountable, protect our immigrant neighbors, and uphold the rule of law.
John, while Brad keeps courtwatching and encouraging other New Yorkers to do the same, we now eagerly await a verdict in this case. While we wait, can you chip in what you can to support Brad's efforts to unseat a corporate-backed incumbent in NY-10?
