Gabby Giffords turned 56 yesterday, and we're putting together a birthday card from Arizona Democrats across the state.

Gabby Giffords is one of Arizona's greatest heroes. Born and raised in Tucson, she became the youngest woman ever elected to the Arizona State Senate, served Arizona in Congress, and survived an assassination attempt that would have broken anyone else.

It didn't break Gabby.

She came back stronger — co-founding Giffords, the gun violence prevention organization, receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and never once backing down from the fight for a safer, more just Arizona.

We had the honor of celebrating with her at the Giffords Gala earlier this year — and we want to make sure she knows how much she means to this state and this movement.
