I won my very first Congressional primary by just 1,790 votes.

For reference, that's about 4% of the seats at Wrigley Field. A close shave by any measure and a lesson I've never forgotten: don't get comfortable, and never take a single vote for granted.

I think about that number a lot. 1,790 isn't an abstraction. It's 1,790 real people. It's the neighbor who knocked on doors in the rain. The retiree who maxed out at $25 because it was what she could spare. The college kid who'd never volunteered for anything before and showed up anyway.

It's the difference between a thorn in MAGA's side and an empty seat they get to fill.

That's how we flipped a district that had been red for half a century. Not with one big check or one famous endorsement, but with thousands of people deciding their small part mattered.

These days, I'm grateful that IL-06 is on much steadier ground. But I learned a long time ago that you don't build a winning streak by coasting, and you sure don't protect it by acting like the work is already done.

Which brings me to you , the person reading this email right now. You don't have to be the deciding vote in a nail-biter to matter. You're part of the machine that keeps this seat strong, keeps MAGA from ever sniffing an opening, and lets me keep doing the work in Washington.
